Independence Day star Bill Pullman is rumoured to be set to play Philip K Dick in an independent film by Matthew Wilder called Panasonic.
Blade Runner: Final Cut is due for release in 2007. The movie is based on the novel Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? This latest version will have a short spell in theaters to celebrate the film's twenty-fifth anniversary. A special edition DVD will follow.
The movie adaptation of The Golden Man has been given the name Next, and is scheduled for release on April 27th 2007. Next is directed by Lee Tamahori and stars Nicolas Cage. More information can be found at the official site for Next.
The Library of America plans to release a collection entitled Four Novels of the 1960s. The novels are The Man in the High Castle (1962), The Three Stigmata of Palmer Eldritch (1965), Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? (1968) and UBIK (1969).
The previously unpublished novel Voices from the Street is scheduled for release in January 2007.
Directed by Richard Linklater, the DVD release of A Scanner Darkly is scheduled for December 18th 2006. The movie uses rotoscoping technology in which animation is applied to ordinary film content. Included in the list of 'animated' actors are Keanu Reeves, Robert Downey,Jr., Winona Ryder and Woody Harrelson. Radiohead contribute some of the music.
